Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum 2026
Nairobi, Kenya….The Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum 2026 will be a groundbreaking five-day meeting place for the world’s technology and conservation leaders, taking place in Nairobi and Konza Technopolis from 2–6 March 2026.
The Forum is designed to coincide with World Wildlife Day, which marks the official opening, and International Women’s Month, spotlighting the critical role women play in conservation, technology, and drone innovation across the globe.
In addition, the programme will feature a Youth Conservation Tech Award to identify and recognise emerging young talent applying technology, including drones, to real-world conservation challenges.
Across five days, the Forum will bring together conservation practitioners, policymakers, technologists, funders, and researchers for high-level dialogue, applied case studies, and field demonstrations of conservation technologies, including drones and data-driven tools.
Further announcements, including awards, speakers, and programme highlights, will be shared on the Forum website and social media platforms.
This initiative, backed by key government and conservation partners including Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and Action Labs Africa.
GCTDF is the brainchild of Jonty Slater and David Guerin with support from numerous partners in Conservation, drone and innovation such as GIZ, The Wildlife Society, Island Foundation, Robonation, WeRobotics and Flying Labs, Kenya Flying Labs, the African Drone Forum, the Drone Association of Kenya, Mara Elephant Project, Connected Conservation Foundation, Leopard Ecology and Conservation, wilddrone.eu and Nature Drones CiC and in-kind supporters Phantom Technologies.
Speaking on community-led innovation, Mr. Jonty Slater, Co-Founder, GCTDF noted: "Technology in conservation is only as powerful as the community it serves. This is where we shift from deploying tools to empowering stewards."
